Top wideout in Week 18 loss
Olave had five receptions (on 12 targets) for 60 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 10-7 defeat to the Panthers.
Analysis: Olave reclaimed his role as New Orleans' top wideout after dealing with a hamstring injury over the previous two weeks, accounting for just under half of New Orleans' 25 total targets Week 18. The rookie receiver got started early with two receptions for 32 yards on the opening drive, including a 25-yard receiving touchdown. However, he did cough up a crucial fumble at the Carolina 24-yard line during the second quarter. This still marked the 6-foot-1 receiver's first game with double-digit…read more

Four catches in return
Olave tallied four receptions on five targets for 42 yards during Sunday's 20-10 victory versus Philadelphia.
Analysis: Olave played 61 percent of the Saints' offensive snaps in his first game back from a hamstring injury. The rookie first-rounder didn't appear limited by this issue while catching all three of his targets for 31 yards on New Orleans' opening drive, but his opportunities dwindled as the Saints' offense shifted to a ball-control game script during the second half. Olave finished third on the team in targets behind tight end Juwan Johnson's seven and fellow rookie wideout Rashid Shaheed's six.…read more

Active against Eagles
Olave (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Analysis: Olave returns from a one-game absence to face one of the best secondaries in the league, led by perimeter corners Darius Slay and James Bradberry. The Saints figure to roll with Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Tre'Quan Smith as their top three wide receivers, while Marquez Callaway is a healthy scratch.

Expected to play Sunday
Olave (hamstring) is expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Olave sat out Week 16 due to a hamstring injury but has since managed to return to practice as a limited participant, and it looks like the Saints expect him to be back on the field Sunday. The rookie first-round pick's status will be made official prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Status in question for Sunday
Olave (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest at Philadelphia, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: One week removed from not practicing before the Saints ruled him out for Week 16 action at Cleveland, Olave was able to muster three limited sessions this Wednesday through Friday as he continues to work through a hamstring issue. With a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday, his status will become known before the early slate of games. If New Orleans includes Olave on its inactive list, the team will rely on Rashid Shaheed, Tre'Quan Smith, Marquez Callaway and Kirk Merritt at wide receiver.

Remains limited Thursday
Olave (hamstring) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday.
Analysis: With back-to-back capped sessions under his belt to begin Week 17 prep, Olave is in a better spot than a week ago, when he didn't practice at all before he was sidelined this past Saturday at Cleveland with a hamstring issue. It remains to be seen if he'll enter this weekend with a designation for Sunday's game in Philadelphia, something that will become known once the Saints release their final injury report of the week Friday.

Officially limited Wednesday
Olave (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Prior to being inactive this past Saturday in Cleveland due to a hamstring issue, Olave was held out of all drills throughout last week, so his return to the field in any capacity Wednesday is a step in the right direction as the Saints prepare for Sunday's game at Philadelphia. He'll aim to increase his activity level in the coming days, with Friday's practice report indicating whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation.

Back at practice Wednesday
Olave (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, Terrin Waack of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Olave didn't practice at all due to the hamstring issue in Week 16 before he was ruled out in advance of this past Saturday's win in Cleveland. It marked the second absence during what's been a productive rookie campaign for the 11th overall pick of this year's draft, as he's just 60 yards shy of 1,000 receiving yards with two games to go in the regular season. Wednesday's injury report will reveal how much work Olave was able to handle in the Saints' first Week 17 session.

Sidelined for Week 16
Olave (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Browns, Terrin Waack of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: New Orleans will have to get by without two of its starting receivers in Week 16, as neither Olave nor Jarvis Landry (ankle) will be available after both weren't able to practice Friday in any fashion. With the star rookie sidelined and the veteran slot man sitting out, the Saints are left with Rashid Shaheed, Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway as their likely starting receiver trio.

Another DNP on Wednesday
Olave (hamstring) was held out of practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Olave has yet to practice this week as he tends to a hamstring issue, giving him just one more opportunity to get in some on-field work before the Saints file their final Week 16 injury report Thursday. Fellow wide receiver Jarvis Landry made a sudden appearance on Wednesday's report as a non-participant due to an ankle concern, so the position group will be one to monitor as Saturday's game at Cleveland approaches.

Not seen at practice Wednesday
Olave (hamstring) wasn't spotted at Wednesday's practice, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Olave may be trending toward a second consecutive absence from on-field work as he deals with a hamstring issue, which would give him just one more chance to mix into drills during Week 16 prep. Wednesday's injury report will reveal whether or not he's listed as a non-participant or limited participant in practice.

Dealing with hamstring issue
Olave was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report due to a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Aside from sitting out Week 6 with a concussion, Olave has been a model of health during his rookie season en route to 63 catches on 102 targets for 940 yards and three touchdowns in 13 appearances. Now with a new injury, he'll have two more sessions to get back on the field and prove his fitness for Saturday's game in Cleveland.

Moderate outing in rush-heavy win
Olave had three receptions (on four targets) for 53 yards during Sunday's 21-18 victory over Atlanta.
Analysis: Olave logged one his more pedestrian stat lines of the season, as he matched his season low for receptions in a game. However, the rookie wideout still tied Rashid Shaheed for the Saints' second-most targets behind tight end Juwan Johnson (six). Olave also posted at least one reception of 20 or more yards for the ninth time in 13 games this season. The No. 1 wideout should continue to serve a prominent role in New Orleans' limited passing offense against Cleveland in Week 16.

Top target in loss
Olave reeled in four of six targets for 65 yards during Monday's 17-16 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Olave once again paced the Saints in targets. However, the rookie finished as the team's second-leading receiver behind Rashid Shaheed, who posted a career-high 75 yards. Olave also made an uncharacteristic drop on third down that would have given New Orleans' offense an additional red-zone opportunity late in the second quarter. The 2022 first-round pick has been one of the most consistent offensive players for the Saints this year, and following their Week 14 bye, he should have a chance to…read more

Leads team in receiving
Olave hauled in five of nine targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 13-0 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: New Orleans' offense sputtered as a whole, but Olave was able to produce against a tough defense. The standout rookie could have had a bigger game had his quarterback not struggled, as he almost made two circus catches on poorly-thrown balls that would have resulted in an additional 30-plus yards and a touchdown. It was still a productive fantasy line from the 22-year-old, who now boasts a 56/822/3 receiving line through 11 contests. Olave remains the Saints' clear No. 1 wideout heading into…read more

Hauls in 53-yard touchdown
Olave caught five of six targets for 102 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 27-20 victory versus the Rams.
Analysis: Olave led the Saints in receptions and receiving yards with the team's pass-catching corps at full strength outside of Deonte Harty (foot) and Michael Thomas (toe), who are both out on IR. After catching his lone target of the first half for 12 yards, the first-round rookie logged three receptions of 14 yards or more in the second half. Step back against Pittsburgh
Olave recorded three receptions on five targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: For the first time since Week 4, Olave faced legitimate target competition due to the return of Jarvis Landry (groin). As a result, Olave earned his fewest targets since Week 1, also turning in his lowest yardage total of the campaign. Olave should have the potential to regain volume moving forward, but the poor state of the Saints offense limits his potential to produce consistently.

Overcomes poor Dalton performance
Olave recorded six receptions on nine targets for 71 yards in Monday's 27-13 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Olave caught a pass on the first play from scrimmage for a gain of 15 yards. It took until there were 25 seconds remaining in the second quarter for him to catch his next pass, but he picked up the pace in the final two quarters as the Saints tried to recover from a significant deficit. Likely No. 1 wideout rest of season
Olave appears set to serve as the Saints' top wideout for the rest of the season after head coach Dennis Allen announced Thursday that Michael Thomas (toe) was set to undergo surgery and unlikely to play again in 2022, John Sigler of USA Today reports.
Analysis: Thomas is heading to injured reserve on account of a dislocated second toe on his right foot, an injury that has prevented the three-time Pro Bowler from playing since Week 3. With Allen noting that the Saints aren't counting on Thomas to return before season's end, Olave should remain locked in for high target counts throughout the second half of the campaign. Olave caught five of seven targets for 52 yards in Sunday's 24-0 win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Olave trailed only tailback Alvin Kamara in all major receiving categories. In Week 9, Olave is slated to make his first Monday night appearance, as New Orleans plays host to Baltimore.

Clears century mark in return
Olave brought in seven of 14 targets for 106 yards in the Saints' 42-34 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday night.
Analysis: The rookie led the Saints in receptions, receiving yards and targets in his return from a one-game absence due to a concussion. Olave recorded a 41-yard reception for his longest catch, and he naturally served as a primary target for Andy Dalton on a night when Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) were sidelined once again. Not listed on injury report
Olave (concussion) wasn't listed on Monday's estimated injury report, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Analysis: Olave has cleared the concussion protocol and should be good to go for Week 7. Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) continue to deal with lingering injuries, so Olave currently is in line to be the Saints' No. 1 wideout against the Cardinals on Thursday. Across five appearances, the rookie first-round pick has caught 25 of 42 targets for 389 yards and two scores.

Waiting for final clearance
Olave passed all of the league's concussion protocol steps Monday and is waiting for final clearance, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Olave suffered the concussion during a touchdown catch Week 5 and was sidelined for Week 6. However, he appears to be progressing well and soon may be uninhibited. Nonetheless, New Orleans has a quick turnaround into Thursday Night Football, so the Saints may not rush the rookie wideout into action Week 7. Still, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported late Saturday that Olave wasn't expected to suit up this weekend. Unlikely for Week 6
Olave (concussion), officially listed as questionable, is unlikely to play Sunday against the Bengals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Even though Olave upgraded to full practice participation Friday, multiple Saints beat reporters suggested the rookie wideout didn't actually do much on the field during the open portion of the session. Olave also needs clearance from an independent neurologist to formally exit the concussion protocol, and Schefter's report suggests that's unlikely to happen prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Analysis: Olave picked up a head injury when his helmet struck the turf as he was tackled to the ground during a touchdown catch this past Sunday against the Seahawks. Paces pass catchers in loss
Olave secured five of 13 targets for 80 yards in the Saints' 20-10 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis: Olave's yardage and target tallies led the Saints on the afternoon, making it a solid encore performance for the rookie after a 3-41 effort in Week 1 that included a two-point conversion catch. Olave showed off his speed on his game-long 51-yard grab, but with Jameis Winston revealed to be playing through multiple back fractures, it remains to be seen if it will be the latter or Andy Dalton targeting Olave in a Week 3 road battle against the Panthers.

Olave caught his only target for 19 yards in Friday's 27-10 preseason win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Olave's only catch came on the opening drive on a pass thrown by starting quarterback Jameis Winston. Impressive against Packers
Olave caught two of his three targets for 28 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Olave played nearly the entire first half and found the end zone on a 20-yard reception with 12 seconds left in the second quarter. He also chipped in an eight-yard catch that set up a field goal for the Saints. Though Olave was catching passes from Ian Book rather than Jameis Winston, he had a fairly impressive performance and can reasonably be expected to contribute immediately as a rookie once the regular season begins.

Olave caught his only target for four yards in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans.
Analysis: Olave drew the start and logged 15 offensive snaps in his preseason debut, but the rookie first-rounder saw just one target on a short dump-off from reserve quarterback Ian Book. Despite the absences of fellow receivers Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry, Olave's lack of volume in the Saints' first preseason contest shouldn't be a concern.
