Signs with Cardinals
Gladney signed a two-year contract with the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Analysis: Gladney was waived by the Vikings in August after he was indicted on charges of felony assault, but after a jury found him not guilty last week, he'll look to reboot his career in the desert. The 25-year-old could still face a suspension from the league, but he'll compete for a role in Arizona's secondary ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Sustains calf injury Sunday
Gladney (calf) is questionable to return to Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Gladney's absence renders Minnesota's secondary short-handed for as long as he is unable to return, with the game remaining very much in the balance in the fourth quarter. The first-round rookie out of TCU had recorded five tackles and one QB hit prior to his exit.

Increased role Sunday

Rejoins team at practice
Gladney (knee) returned to practice Friday.
Analysis: It appears Gladney has made a full recovery from a March surgery that repaired a torn meniscus, as the rookie first-round pick made a pass breakup during the team portion of Friday's practice. Gladney is still in the mix to start Week 1's matchup versus the Packers, but he'll need to quickly get up to speed with just over two weeks to go.

Still dealing with meniscus injury
Gladney said he's making progress after March surgery to repair a torn meniscus, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports. "I'm feeling good right now, but you know, I'd have to defer that to the athletic trainers," Gladney said. "They're going to put me in the best spot, do what's best for me and the team, keep me safe."
Analysis: The surgery was only expected to require a four- or five-week recovery timeline, but Gladney is apparently still feeling some of the effects. His words express optimism about being ready for Week 1's matchup versus the Packers, though, and if he's healthy, the rookie first-round pick should be a starter right out of the gate.
