Working with starters
Seibert has been working with the first-team offense during OTAs, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Analysis: A hip injury planted Seibert on injured reserve midway through the 2021 season, and the 2019 fifth-round draft pick proceeded to watch as Riley Patterson set the Lions franchise rookie record for kicking accuracy down the stretch. However, it not only appears that Seibert is healthy again, but that he has also been working ahead of Patterson during early offseason practices. However, even though Aldrick Rosas is now out of the picture, a two-man competition for the kicking job in Detroit could…read more

Done for '21 season
Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Friday that Seibert (hip) won't return from injured reserve this season, Benjamin Raven of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Seibert is first eligible to return from IR this weekend against the Vikings after missing the requisite three games with a right hip injury, but since he's not even in condition to resume practicing at this stage, the Lions don't have confidence he'll be able to make it back before Week 18. While Seibert has been sidelined, the Lions have used three kickers in as many games. With Ryan Santoso and Aldrick Rosas having since been moved off the 53-man roster, the job looks like it belongs to…read more

Moved to IR
Seibert (hip) was placed on IR on Saturday.
Analysis: The Lions promoted Ryan Santoso from the practice squad in a corresponding move. Santoso will fill in for Seibert against the Steelers on Sunday, and he'll likely continue to do so for the remainder of Seibert's absence, which will last a minimum of three weeks.

Ruled out against Pittsburgh
Seibert (hip) won't play Sunday against the Steelers, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Analysis: Seibert was unable to practice Friday and was subsequently ruled out. The Lions likely will promote Ryan Santoso from the practice squad Friday or Saturday to handle kicking duties this Sunday.

Limited again Thursday
Seibert (hip) was a limited participant at practice Thursday.
Analysis: The kicker was limited for the second consecutive day at practice Thursday, placing some doubt on his availability for Sunday's matchup with the Steelers. Seibert's level of participation at Friday's practice should be a good indicator of his ability to suit up in Week 10.

Misses from 47 yards out
Seibert missed his lone field-goal attempt during Sunday's 44-6 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: After the Lions put up a solid effort in Week 8 against a solid Rams defense, Detroit took a huge step back against a seemingly poor Eagles defense. On his only opportunity of the day, Seibert missed wide left from 47 yards out. Attached to one of the least reliable offenses in the league, Seibert will remain an unadvisable fantasy option when Detroit returns from its Week 9 bye to take on Pittsburgh in Week 10.

Bounces back strong
Seibert converted four-of-four field-goal attempts and his only PAT during Sunday's 28-19 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: In what was easily his most productive game of the year, Seibert nailed a handful of field goals from between 31 and 47 yards out as the Lions found much more success than expected against the Rams' defense. While his fantasy expectations will remain low as long as he's attached to an offense led by Jared Goff, Seibert at least flashed the upside he can have in a game if everything breaks right.

Scores three points in blowout
Seibert converted his lone field-goal attempt during Sunday's 34-11 loss to Cincinnati.
Analysis: Seibert only got one chance at a field goal in this one, as the Lions were thoroughly blown out by the Bengals. While the offense managed to score a TD late, Detroit went for two instead of giving Seibert an extra-point try. There may be 31 better kicker options in fantasy come Week 7 when the Lions go on the road to take on the Rams.

Drills three field goals
Seibert made all three of his field-goal attempts during Sunday's 19-17 loss to Minnesota.
Analysis: Seibert easily had his most productive game as a Lion, nailing two field goals from within 40 yards and another from 52. Detroit kickers previously averaged one field-goal attempt through the first four games of the season. Seibert will remain a risky start in Week 6 against the Bengals.

Activated from COVID-19 list
The Lions reinstated Seibert (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Analysis: After testing positive for the virus Sept. 23, Seibert proceeded to miss the Lions' next two games. Though Seibert is seemingly fully healthy again and is expected to handle kicking duties Sunday in Minnesota, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press notes that kicker Ryan Santoso was one of four practice-squad players protected by Detroit in Week 5. Remains away from team
Seibert (COVID-19) remains away from the team and is uncertain to be available for Sunday's game against the Bears, Benjamin Raven of MLive.com reports.

Tests positive for virus
Seibert's placement on the Lions' reserve/COVID-19 list earlier Thursday was the result of a positive test, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Analysis: Seibert's potential availability for Sunday's game against the Ravens could come down to his vaccination status; players placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list who are vaccinated can rejoin their teams after testing negative twice in 24-hour span, while unvaccinated players are automatically ruled out for at least 10 days. That being said, Seibert still looks like a long shot to clear the necessary protocols with less than 72 hours to go ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, so look for Detroit to…read more

Hits COVID list
The Lions placed Seibert (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.
Analysis: Seibert's status now looks to be in question for Sunday's upcoming contest against the Ravens. If he's not able to clear the league's COVID protocols in time to return Week 3, practice squad kicker Ryan Santoso would stand to bump into the starting lineup.

Perfect in limited action
Seibert converted his only field-goal attempt and both of his PATs during Monday's 35-17 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Doing all of his damage in the first half, Seibert was on his way to a respectable fantasy performance before the Lions offense completely fell apart in the second. While there may be weeks when Detroit can be effective on offense for a full four quarters, Seibert will remain a poor bet to produce on a weekly basis unless the Lions start becoming more efficient at getting into scoring range.

Middling Lions debut
Seibert converted one of two field-goal attempts and two of two PATs during Sunday's 41-33 loss to San Francisco.
Analysis: Seibert missed his first attempt from long range wide left but rebounded later on with a successful attempt from 49 yards out. However, Detroit fell down 38-10 halfway through the third quarter and the offense only went for touchdowns and two-point conversions from then on, limiting Seibert's opportunities. As Detroit's offense and defense will likely remain among the most underwhelming in the league, Seibert seems like one of the least reliable fantasy options at kicker.

Tabbed as Detroit's kicker
The Lions claimed Seibert off waivers Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The landing spot is about as good of an outcome as possible for Seibert, who becomes the only kicker on Detroit's roster just one day after losing a job battle to Evan McPherson in Cincinnati. For fantasy purposes, the Lions' kicker isn't likely to make a dent this season, regardless of who holds down the job.

Waived by Bengals
Seibert was waived by the Bengals on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Seibert made six of eight field-goal attempts with the Bengals last season, but he faced an uphill battle for a roster spot this year after the team selected Evan McPherson in the fifth round of April's draft. McPherson made all five of his field-goal attempts during the preseason, winning the job over Seibert. A fifth-round pick in 2019 by the Browns, Seibert has connected on 31 of 38 career field-goal tries and should be in the mix for teams in need of a kicker at some point during the season.

Falling behind McPherson
Seibert has kicked pretty well at camp so far, missing a couple of 40-plus-yard kicks, but rookie Evan McPherson has been lights out so far, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: McPherson would have to tank badly in camp to lose the job after the Bengals spent a fifth-round pick on him in this year's draft, and he's done anything but tank. After the Jake Elliott draft-then-cut debacle of a few years ago, Seibert had the odds stacked against him in camp.

Unlikely to win kicking job
Seibert isn't expected to win Cincinnati's kicking job, Laurel Pfahler of the Journal-News reports.
Analysis: The Bengals added Evan McPherson in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he appears poised to take over as the team's starting kicker, leaving Seibert on the outside looking in. Seibert appeared in four contests with the Bengals last season, hitting six of eight field-goal attempts and all eight extra points.

Knocks home seven kicks
Seibert made three of four field-goal attempts and all four extra-point tries in Sunday's 37-31 win over the Texans.
Analysis: Seibert missed a 49-yarder in the second quarter, but he drilled kicks from 35, 36 and 48 yards to close out the game. Through three games with the Bengals, Seibert has connected on five of seven field-goal tries and all eight extra-point attempts. Whether that's enough to usurp Randy Bullock for the starting kicker role in 2021 remains to be seen.

Starting kicker once again
Seibert will be the Bengals' starting kicker in Sunday's game against the Texans, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.

Knocks home five kicks
Seibert connected on two of three field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries in Monday's 27-17 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Seibert made kicks from 33 and 34 yards, but he sent a 55-yarder wide right. The Bengals continue to give Seibert a trial run at kicker while leaving incumbent Randy Bullock on the bench. With an adequate Week 15 performance in hand, Seibert should remain in the starting role this Sunday against the Texans.

Week 15 assignment confirmed
Seibert is slotted in as the Bengals kicker for a Monday night matchup against the Steelers with Randy Bullock (coach's decision) inactive for Week 15, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis: Seibert got the nod last week against the Cowboys as well while Bullock was labeled a healthy scratch. The Oklahoma product nailed the lone opportunity of his Bengals debut, converting a point-after attempt. In a more plentiful sample, Seibert went 25-for-30 on field-goal attempts in his 17 appearances for Cleveland between 2019 and 2020.

Makes lone kick Sunday
Seibert made his only kick -- an extra-point attempt -- in Sunday's 30-7 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: The Bengals took three trips to the red zone in the first half, scoring once but turning the ball over twice. Seibert connected on the extra point for the team's lone touchdown, but he wasn't trotted out again in his Bengals debut. Randy Bullock is still on the active roster, but he was a healthy scratch. Takes over kicking duties
Seibert will handle kicking duties Sunday against the Cowboys with regular kicker Randy Bullock (coach's decision) inactive, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The 24-year-old missed a PAT and a 41-yard field goal in the season opener and hasn't seen the field since, but he'll receive another opportunity Sunday. Bullock is 21-for-26 on field-goal attempts and 24-for-25 on PATs this season with four missed kicks the past three games, so the Browns want to see if they have a better option already on the roster. Won't kick Thursday
Seibert is a healthy scratch for Thursday's game against the Browns, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Analysis: Seibert was claimed off waivers by the Browns Tuesday, however, he'll have to wait another week to make his debut. This news is quite interesting, especially considering he was expected to face the team that cut him just a few days after the fact. Seibert may be lacking confidence after he missed a 41-yard field goal and an extra point with the Browns in Week 1. Randy Bullock will continue to handle kicking duties Thursday.

Promptly cut by Cleveland
The Browns waived Seibert on Monday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: The writing was on the wall after the Browns promoted Cody Parkey to the active roster. Seibert had a rough Week 1, missing a 41-yard field goal and an extra point, and the Browns are apparently confident enough in Parkey to cut loose their 2019 fifth-round pick. May lose job to Parkey
Seibert's job is in jeopardy after the Browns signed Cody Parkey to the active roster Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Seibert missed a 41-yard field goal and an extra point in Sunday's 38-6 loss to the Ravens. While his whiffs didn't affect the final result, it looks like the Browns want to get ahead of their kicking woes before it becomes a real issue. Misses two kicks
Seibert was unsuccessful on a 41-yard attempt and missed an extra-point kick in Sunday's 38-6 loss to the Ravens in Week 1.
Analysis: It was not a good day for Seibert, the second-year kicker who had problems early in the 2019 season. He eventually settled down but missed four kicks between 40 and 49 yards and five extra-point tries. Seibert didn't have competition during training camp, suggesting the Browns were happy with him, but Cleveland added Cody Parkey to the practice squad just before the regular season. Special teams coordinator Mike Priefer said Thursday that Seibert is "our guy," Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: The Browns signed Cody Parkey to the practice squad earlier this week, but Priefer's comment confirms that the move was simply made to add depth. Seibert, who converted 25 of 29 field-goal attempts across 16 games for the Browns last season, will head into Sunday's tilt against Baltimore with a secure grip on the starting gig.

Team adds kicker
The Browns signed Cody Parkey to the practice squad Monday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports, adding insurance for Seibert.
Analysis: Parkey kicked for the Browns in 2016, successfully executing 20 of 25 field-goal attempts, including a long of 51 yards, and going 20-for-21 on extra-point kicks. He has a stronger leg than Seibert, who missed four of 14 kicks beyond the 40-yard-line and five extra-point kicks in 2019.

Makes seven of eight
Seibert was successful on seven of eight field-goal attempts during Sunday's practice session, Dan Labbe of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Seibert survived a shaky preseason in 2019, and the rookie posted respectable numbers for a team with a dysfunctional offense. The one downside was missing five of 35 extra-points kicks (85.7 percent, 27th). The Browns opted not to bring in an outside challenger for the place-kicking position, so Seibert is in line to start the season as the team's kicker.

Misses XPA in Week 17 loss
Seibert made his lone field-goal attempt and two of three extra-point kicks in Sunday's 33-23 loss to the Bengals in Week 17.
Analysis: Seibert missed an extra-point kick for the second straight week and had five misses all season, finishing with a lower percentage on extra points (85.7 percent) than field goals (86.2). He recorded 105 points to rank 16th in kicker scoring. The 2019 fifth-round pick survived a shaky preseason to post respectable numbers, but it would not be surprising if the Browns brought in competition at next year's training camp.

Quiet in Week 16 loss
Seibert converted his lone field-goal attempt and missed his only extra-point try in Sunday's 31-15 loss to the Ravens in Week 16.
Analysis: After missing an extra point wide left in the second quarter, Seibert nailed a 47-yard field goal in the third quarter. The Browns scored one touchdown after that, but head coach Freddie Kitchens eschewed the kicking point and went for a two-point conversion that failed. Has first FG misses of season
Seibert missed both of his field-goal attempts and made all three extra-point kicks in Thursday's 21-7 win over the Steelers in Week 11.
Analysis: Seibert, who made all of his field-goal attempts through the first nine games, saw his perfect streak end Thursday. He missed from 45 and 50 yards, both wide to the right. The first miss, the 45-yarder, can be blamed on the snap/hold, but the second one was all Seibert and wasn't close. It was his first attempt this season from beyond 50.
